In an effort to capture the T.W.T experience, we asked a few of our regulars if they wouldn't mind telling the story... service with a smile, some beautiful wares & of course a laugh, a brew and a good yarn or two.
Lucky last in this series is none other than Tal Amoore.
Tal has been supporting us and the store since the beginning, in so many ways. In fact, many of you have probably been confused for thinking he might already work here. Lucky for us, he will be holding down the retail fort while Tom & Nat are away! You will catch Tal on deck Tues-Fri, and Cam will continue the weekend reins.
Tal usually spends most of his time with viola in hand, and will be opening on Tuesday (hopefully) without too much jetlag, having just returned from a scholarship placement in London for the past month. Alongside his study, you can often catch him performing with the likes of NZ Symphony, Orchestra Wellington, or as one quarter of the Antipodes Quartet.
Read how he stay motivated & inspired in the chaotic world of music here.
HOW (did you end up where you are today/doing what you do):
A combo of stubbornness, late nights, good people, and accidentally saying yes to the right things at the right time. Music's always been the thing that makes the most sense to me, and somehow i'm still making it work.
WHY (Wellington):
Because it's chaotic in the best way, a true melting pot of creatives where you run into someone you know on nearly every corner.
WHERE (is your #overseas destination):
London, it's big, buzzy and full of possibility
WHAT (is on heavy rotate for you atm):
Listening to: Milestones. The Jazz Album by Quatour Ébène
Eating: Pho from Fisherman's Plate. Religiously.
Watching: Severance
Hanging out: In the shop or Customs
WHO (are your current sources of inspiration):
Timothy Ridout, I worship the ground beneath his feet. Also the Australian Chamber Orchestra, fresh and fearless.
