that was then, this is Luke Procter

Recently, we had the most fun time, hanging with our mates & capturing the "TWT" experience.
A few of our regulars were kind enough to support the cause, & first up, spotlight is on the one & only Luke Procter (@eastlarry).   Luke has been one of Tom's longest clients in the chair, & he was in fact our very first customer when the retail doors opened back in 2021.
As well as a longstanding advocate & great friend, we can honestly say his eye for style is second to none. He also has pretty killer taste for music - catch him regularly DJing around Welly at places like Parrot Dog or The Ram.

We asked Luke a few questions about our hometown, music, & where he finds inspiration -

HOW did you end up where you are today?

I don't actually know where I am, let alone how I got here. Man, it's been a journey. A lot of mistakes. A lot of hard work. And loads of fun along the way... I've always tried to stay open minded about the opportunities in front of me. With a wife and two children, I feel like I'm in the most rewarding period of my life.

WHY Wellington?

There's nowhere else quite like it. It's vibrant and diverse. It's creative and quirky. It's friendly and inclusive. You can walk just about everywhere. The fashion and music communities here are strong and world class. Wellington has its own distinct style, and simply by living here, I feel like I contribute to that somehow. It's a special feeling. Plus most of my family and friends live here too...

WHERE is your #1 overseas destination?

Tokyo! The most stylish, dazzling and interesting place on the planet. If you want to know what amazing things humans are capable of - you must go to Tokyo. It'll change your life. Seriously.

WHAT are you listening to/watching atm?

Music is a passion for me. I collect records and DJ, so I'm listening to a wide range of music all the time. I don't get stuck in one genre or another - good music can come from everywhere. At the moment I'm listening to loads of late 70's and early 80's soul, disco, boogie and proto-house.

WHO are your current sources of inspiration?

Honestly, my wife and kids. They energise and inspire me. Mates are also a big source of inspiration. Some of my friends are doing amazing things in their lives - they're at the top of their game. My fashion heros are some of the local Welly store owners and their staff!
