Big John is affectionately known as the Godfather of Japanese denim. Founded in 1940 by Kotara Ozaki, this legacy brand is responsible for pioneering roots of the selvedge denim scene in the now famous Kojima, Okayama.
Big John's original heavy gauge jeans do what they say and sit heavy at 17oz. Made from 100% US cotton, and dyed extra deep using pure indigo. A regular cut, with a mid-high rise and straight leg which allows a little more room in the thigh and comfortable fit throughout. This is a pair of truly classic workwear denim - hard wearing classic straight leg jeans.
While these are a "shrink to fit" denim, as a rinsed denim, we still recommend taking your usual size. You can expect the break in period to be around 2-4 weeks of daily wear, and the fabric will give over this time. After the first wash, they may shrink back slightly, but only in relation to the wear in period. So wear in well, resist unneccesary washing, and you will find the fit perfect for life!
